COASTAL VIETNAM
VIETNAM’S COASTAL CUISINE
The Vietnamese coastline stretches over 2,000 miles, winding through long sandy beaches, jungle limestone cliffs, and teeming mangrove river deltas. Its many seaside towns fry, stew, steam, and stir the ocean’s bounty into countless regional delicacies. To celebrate this delicious diversity, we have curated a bright, fun seafood feast that tours the expansive waterfronts of coastal Vietnam and spotlights rare regional gems.
EDIBLE VIETNAMESE FRUIT ART: KEEPING A DYING TRADITION ALIVE
When Thu was a little girl, riding on the back of her father’s motorbike on her way to school, there would be countless delights for sale at every red light. One in particular always caught her eyes - fruit-shaped mung bean desserts, shaped by hand and painted to look like tiny fruit jewels. Having photographed these for various magazines, she is excited to offer her own version of them for New York City: a tasting flight of these handmade beauties filled with fruit flavorings.
Every event features some traditional edible art to bring these traditional treats off the pages of history and onto our plates.
